heritage
When it comes to the architectural heritage of a place, Perthshire has much to offer and anyone interested in historical buildings and the history behind them will not need to venture far from a mansio apartment to find plenty to inspire and interest them.
Perthshire was home to the religious and political capital of Scotland during the middle ages, meaning the area has a legacy of important royal and religious foundations from the Abbey at Coupar Angus, Dunkeld Cathedral, St John's Kirk in Perth and the famous Scone Palace - to the smaller and more humble pre-Reformation Chapels dotted across Strathearn.
The combined properties owned and looked after by The National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland will give you a wide variety of places to visit from beautiful gardens to architectural monuments and wonderful historical houses and castles.
There are also many more privately owned places of historical and general interest to visit, such as nearby Drummond Castle and Gardens and Innerpeffray Library, Scotland’s famous first free public lending library.
